To run that cleanly, it needs 400V. That high-voltage approach brings a nice bonus: it pulls less current. So you can use smaller gauge wiring, and you’re not putting your circuit breaker under constant strain. And because it’s compact, it slips into tight fixtures without forcing you to redesign the whole enclosure.
The materials that matter when the air is soaking
The quartz glass tube is halogen-filled and coated to handle thermal shock and keep output steady over time. That coating is there to protect the filament inside—so the warmth keeps coming, consistently. Then there’s the R7s connector. It’s the workhorse: secure, rated for high temperatures, and straightforward to wire into a fixture. But here’s the reality check, even with an IP65 rating. The internal electronics still deal with brutal heating and cooling cycles. And if you don’t protect against condensation, failures show up early.
