Getting the Heat Right

We build our tubes to match the voltage and wattage your furnace already uses. If we can bump up the voltage, it means more power without overloading your wiring. Simple as that. But you have to be precise. If the wattage is too high, you’ll overheat the surface and the glass will bow. Too low? The glass won’t be hot enough by the time it hits the quench tanks.It’s a balancing act.
The Tech Behind the Glow
We use high-purity quartz because it can take the beating of rapid heating and cooling without cracking. Most of these lamps use shortwave infrared. It’s just better for this job because shortwave radiation punches through the glass much faster than medium or longwave options. It keeps the line moving. When it comes to the plugs, we use standard R7s or Sk15 connectors. We make sure they fit tight. A loose connection is a disaster waiting to happen—it creates a hot spot that can melt your holder or arc out, which kills the lamp way faster than it should.
